Myoma Fibroids?: There are many options.  Hysterectomy is the definitive solution.   Myomectomy, magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound surgery (mrgfus or fus) (eg, exablate® 2000), uterine artery embolizaiton, endometrial ablation are other options.  There are medical options such as with hormonal therapy.  A competent gynecologist should be discuss these options.

Depends: Thant depends on the extenst of the fibrosis. If it is isolated and does not involve much of the lung, then the effects are probably clinically insignificant. But if the fibrosis is extensive then pulmonary function will be compromised. Only a pulmonologist can tell you for sure after evaluating you and the radiographic studies.

Unlikely: As a genetic disease, CF is carried by asymptomatic people with a normal gene to balance the abnormal one.If two asymptomatic carriers conceive a baby with two abnormal genes, CF is expressed and the abnormal gene is present in every cell of the body. Treatment is supportive but cannot undo the abnormal genetic information. Improvements in long term supportive care is the best hope at present.

Research $: Probably the best way for someone to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (cf), or any other disease for that matter, is to help raise money for research (basic science, translational, or clinical trials). Perhaps...: The best chance for a cure for cystic fibrosis lies in gene therapy. Clinical trials are currently underway in a number of countries to try to do this. Yes: Fibrosis is used lightly at times like a scar or small fibrosis after an infection. Real pulmonary fibrosis would be different and usually progressive. You seem to have had a good talk with your md and reassured. Relax, enjoy your travel.
