when blow nose, mucus is bloody.  lots of yellow-green postnasal drip. some wheeze. no fever.  take dymista, allegra, singulair, (montelukast) qvar, and ventolin. it's not allergy. sinusitus?  go see primary care or wait it out?

Always a good: Idea to go see your PCP when taking so many medications with persistence of symptoms. Your PCp may determine that you need antibiotics

Depends: Ventolin and Qvar working via different mechanisms.  Ventolin exerts its effect by dilating your airways and Qvar is a steroid and works by reducing inflammation.  Depending on the cause and timing of your symptoms, either medicine can be helpful.  Generally, ventolin is appropriate when you have intermittent bouts of shortness of breath.  Qvar usually is better at preventing episodic dyspnea.

using qvar, ventolin and pred to control wheezing and coughing.  doc weaning me off pred and prescribed dulera, (formoterol and mometasone) afraid of side effects, should i use?

Mgt: Dulera (formoterol and mometasone) compared with oral prednisone has fewer serious side effects. I would suggest having an EKG 12 lead and avoiding caffeine while using Dulera (formoterol and mometasone).
If you notice any side effects, it is important to see your PCP.

on qvar 50mg, ventolin,prednisolone for asthma flare up. i got switched to symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) from qvar y'day &i'm drowsy. is this normal? hr is 102/min laying

Asthma flare: Neither the Qvar nor the  Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) would cause drowsiness, low oxygen from asthma flare or may be low blood pressure may be the cause. Stay calm, don't move a lot till you settle, take your rescue medicine and call your doctor or go to ER, goodluck

Yes: Qvar is an inhaled steroid that should be used on a regular basis.  Albuterol is used as needed to give quick relief of symptoms.  It is fine to use these two medications together.

Please continue: Using Qvar and montelukast, those are your routine maintenance medications that you need to take whether you're symptomatic or not. The albuterol is a short acting broncho dilator, works better during an asthma flare or before strenuous activity, keep the follow up with your doctor / asthma specialist, wish you wellness

Depends: No real "Contraindication" but immediate use of alcohol with any medicine is NOT WISE! You can have a reasonable amount of alcohol in between doses of your medications.

my 2 yr. old was given two types of inhalers. qvar is needed twice daily and he also has albuterol. should the albuterol be used daily too?

Inhaler: Qvar is a controller medication for asthma and is use twice a day however Albuterol is a rescue inhaler and is to be used. Only if your child starts to wheeze despite  using Qvar so the answer to your question is NO only use Albuterol on an as needed basis

Flu: Residual symptoms of the flu especially wheezing and shortness of breath can persists for weeks.  It should be improving over time.  In rare instances, the flu can affect your heart.  If your symptoms persist more than a month or worsen over time see your doctor.
