No need to wait: Molecular tests for chlamydia are sensitive and specific. You do not need to wait to get tested. If you suspect you have chlamydia, see your doctor for the test. In collecting urine, do collect the very first flow of urine. This is in contrast to all other urine collections.

Probably OK, but...: Most likely &quot;4 antibiotics&quot; means 4 pills of a single antibiotic, azithromycin (total 1 gram). The shot was ceftriaxone, to cover gonorrhea in case it was also present. It&#x27;s usually recommended to wait a week before sex, but 4-5 days really isn&#x27;t a problem. But only if you were also treated for chlamydia. If not, see your doctor today; you both may need re-treatment.

Chance of false pos: Testing is for chlamydial DNA, which persists for a while after the organism has been killed. Many cured persons willstill have false positive tests at 7 days. Chlamydia testing should not be repeated before 3 weeks after treatment. Retesting even at 4-6 weeks usually isn't necessary. Treatment failure is so rare that standard advice is to retest at 3-6 months, mostly to detect reinfection.
