how long rabies incubation please ? i read articles in internet that said may take 6 years and others said 19 & 25 yrs !! this scared me specially when i found doctors in this app said "in rare cases maybe take this years" ? where is the truth ??

Confusing question: If you have completed a primary series of the rabies vaccine it should provide protection for 2 years from the date of completion. Some will benefit for longer, but those in high risk situations are advised to have blod tests after 2 years to see if a booster is needed.

Not long!: The virus incubates in affected animal's body for apporximately 3-12 weeks. The animal has no signs of illness during this time.
When it reaches the brain, the virus multiplies rapidly, passes to the salivary glands, and the raccoon begins to show signs of the disease.
The infected animal usually dies within 7 days of becoming sick. It's unlikely to be infected if the animal is dead.

Animals most likely to transmit rabies in the United States include bats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons and skunks. Saliva on objects or the fur of other animals cannot infect you even through a cut, because the virus does not have the ability to live long in the open.
