About 4 hours: we metabolize a standard drink (not sure what you mean by a "unit") or 1 1/2 oz of distilled spirit, 12 oz of beer or 5 oz of table wine in about one hour.  It depends somewhat on your liver status, presence of other medications that cross-react, and how quickly you dirnk the alcohol, and to a slight extent on your weight and height.  But in general, one drink per hour is the rule.

That should be the: Least of your worries. If you are drinking 24 ounces of neat vodka at a sitting, you are clearly alcoholic.  Whether anybody else finds out about appears to be your major worry, which i suggest should be the damage it is doing to your health and your life in general. That amount of alcohol will cause a bac of between 250-300 mg/%, which may be detectable for 24+ hours, depending on your liver.

Passing an alcohol: Test is the very least of your problems. Alcohol is metabolized in the liver, and sweating and urinating remove only a very tiny amount. We metabolize about 1 drink per hour, so a fifth would take a day or more to completely be metabolized, more or less. However, your drinking is clearly beyond social and you are almost certainly alcoholic. You need help before you do permanent damage to body/mind.

AA: Your aunt obviously need supportive therapy. AA should be useful, but she has to be enrolled in the possibility of spending time with members of the family who loves her. Forcing someone to go to AA is usually not successful

Wrong question: It isn't that there are hidden side effects,  it's the significance.  Blackouts usually imply a bac of greater than 0.250.  Most people would have passed out by then.  To remain up and partially functioning suggests tolerance and therefore a concern for alcoholism.

See an allergist: All distilled spirits have some additives, preservatives and the like, and you may be allergic to some proprietary chemical in the mix.  Alcohol allergy does occur, but it would not be specific to the brand of beverage.  You don;t say what kind of reaction you are having, and i cannot tell you whether it is likely to be allergic in nature without knowing the specific signs and symptoms you get.
