Two to 8 hours: Most common local anesthetic  used is Lidocaine with Epinephrine lasting 2 to 4 hours.  If a  longer acting anesthetic was used it could last 6- 8 yours.

Numbness: If the numbness last longer than 3 hours post op (id does  not go away) you need to return to the oral surgeon ASAP. Paresthesia may last 6 wks to 6 mos or be permanent. The sooner it is diagnosed the better the outcome and sometimes micro surgery is needed to reattach the two ends of the nerve if the nerve was severed. pinched/crushed nerves recover w/o surgery.

Ear pain: Pain may be due to the severity of pre-op infection, the amount of bone removed during surgery, or from TMJ stress from opening during surgery.
Check with your surgeon to make sure there are no post-op complications.

Individualized: Everyone is different and there are many different extremes of wisdom teeth surgery. All patients should eat something the evening of surgery with the consistancy   of the food ranging from pureed to semisolid depending on the extend of your surgery .  Whatever you start with you should try to daily increase the your diet but without causing pain or discomfort.

Lymph Nodes: They should shrink back to normal size in a few weeks time. See your dentist if they're still swollen in a month.

Dry Socket ?: It is very possible you have a dry socket. Please go back to the oral surgeon who extracted the teeth for a post-op follow up.

Depends.: Normally, within a week the swelling should be significantly reduced.  Try to keep the are clean.  Use the curve syringe to flush out the food after eating.  Steroid only effective 1/2 hour within the surgery appointment.  Take your antibiotic faithfully and Ibuprofen for antiswelling measure.

Wisdom tooth: Still healing. If problem still there in 3-4 weeks have it checked. No cold drinks.
