i am on pregablin 600mg a day for post op pain since 7th dec 16. i no longer want or need it. can i come off this or do i follow a gradual protocol?

Some withdrawal : There is withdrawal warning with this medication... The larger the dosage and longer you are on it, the more likely withdrawal symptoms you may feel. As a result, gradually weaning over a week to two is advisable.
Consult the prescribing physician/nurse for further advice.

Depends on what you: are taking pregablin for. One of its chief indications is neuropathic pain, and alcohol actually can be a cause of that, or worsen it even if it isn't the cause, so I wouldn't really think that would be a good idea.  A sip wouldn't matter but not sure how big a sip you take

Risks: it would be preferable to limit medications as much as possible, especially in the first trimester. one must weigh the risks to child and risks to mother. this is a complicated discussion that you should have with your ob/gyn and psychiatrist. there might be some helpful information here:

my partners has been taking pregablin for back pain and it effects his personality. us there a less severe alternative plan.

Dose: Consider the dose they are on, if a smaller daily dose both helps and doesn't have same problems. Might also want to take another medicine with that smaller dose, such as motrin, as long as they are not allergic, and their kidneys are working fine. Older patients on multiple medicines,  those with diabetes,  should be cautious when adding an antiinflammary and should discuss with their doctor.

i am a 42yr old man, 6ft 4 height 140kilo weight . am currently takin 900mg of pregablin a day . my doc says that 600mg is the max daily but my point is due to my size i need a higher dose . can i have a 2nd opinion pls?

Why are you taking?: It depends on why youa re taking it.  For diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, and seizures the maximum is 600 mg.  For fibromyalgia it is 450 mg.

I understand your thoughts on a "higer" dose, but dosing is based on lean body mass (your bmi is 37.5).

Ask your doctor: You take a lot of medicine and have a number of difficult problems. The pain may be the controlling factor in trying to stop or reduce the amount of medicine. It may take as long as a month or a few days. I think the drawn out time of about three weeks is a better answer as it is a gradual reduction. Reduce in 75 mg twice a day per week

i have slip disk .is medicine( methcoblamin ,pregablin or muscle relaxers)are very imp as i can tolerate pain .is  exersise is not only enough?

Many treatments : talk to your doctor about the treatments. Treating back pain can be complex and usually requires an approach using multiple therapies. Medication to relieve the pain and exercises are a good start but it will take some time for the pain to improve.

pregablin. felt high, fidgety, didn't sleep well woke up freezing cold in the core but with hot prickly skin. next day feel fluey & skin shingle pain?

See your doctor: Pregabalin can cause you to feel dizzy or sleepy. It may cause other side effects and can also interfere with many medications. If it becomes necessary for the treatment to stop, your doctor will ask you to reduce your dose over a period of at least a week.
