i take amitriptyline for functional dyspepsia/ibs, it works well started at 5mg but with each inc it stops working and i am at 20 mg. it makes me severely tired 24/7. what other tryclics can i ask my doctor about besides nortriptyline? perhaps imip?

: You can try desipramine (Norpramin) at 25 mg starting dose, dose can be titrated up every 2 weeks as needed to a max dose of 100 mg.

last thursday i started to take nortriptyline to prevent migraines. now i have weird symptoms; numbness on my legs and feet and they feel somehow weird? i also have blurred vision when i watch something longer. could these be side effects?

: Possibly yes, and you might discuss with your doctor.  There are numerous ways of preventing migraines, and nortryptyline is an archaic and modestly successful approach at best.

7-10 days : Median half life for nortryptiline is about 25-30 hours. So i average to get out of your system roughly, its about 7-10 days. That's of course is a rough estimate, as there are a lot of variables that van affect the elimination half life.

: Serrapeptase is a supplement so I could not find the interaction between nortriptyline and this product. However, website drugs.com does not give a warning about the combination between serrapeptase and tricyclic antidepressant such as nortriptyline so I think you can use them together.

Pamelor (nortriptyline): They are same medicine. Pamelor is brand & nortriptyline is generic.

how long does it take for nortriptyline .25 mg a night for 6years to get out of your system?  can you stop them cold turkey?

Yes: 25 mg is the minimum dose. Even if you have been taking it for many years, the only negative effect would be trouble sleeping since that is what you were taking it for in the first place.
