: Testing for drug exposure is not an automatic part of the evaluation at delivery. That said, if I have reason to suspect it, state law may require testing. If I look, I can find evidence of drug exposure in a newborn as far back as the 12th week of pregnancy.

Meth exposure: Chemicals may enter the body by being breathed, eaten, injected (by a contaminated needle or accidental skin prick), or absorbed by the skin, so it really depends upon whether you had any of the exposures above. Stay away from it. This is nothing to play around with. Stay away from anyone who wants to use it around you.

can meth be transferred to someone thru saliva or during sex? i recently snorted some and am worried my bf will have a dirty urine from it. he does not use, hes on probation?

: Probably a trivial exposure, but the bigger issue is your usage, which can provide great risk and legal difficulties in addition.  Your BF is already in trouble.  Do yourself and him a favor, and engage in a drug rehabilitation program.

Few days: It will likely only test positive in your saliva for a few days as long as it is only a "low amount."  and it was a one time thing.  The longer you use most drugs the longer it will produce a positive result in tests.  Saliva tests, however, are not as predictable or reliable as urine tests so it might be different each time you take a test.  Good luck!

Yes: If you consumed any drugs after 20 wks gestation the doc is likely to find evidence in babies system. Both you and baby are subject the child protection laws of the state. The doc is required by that law to act on any suspicion of drug exposure to protect that baby's life as a new citizen. If you have remained clean, no problem, if not, you must deal with it. Baby can also show drug withdrawal.

Meth: meth will only stay in your system for a couple days but it will stay in  the baby's cord blood and meconium (poop) till birth  actually most drugs taken after about 12 weeks gestation will show up in the baby

Please talk to your doc openly about this and he or she will be able to come with a plan to help and support you.

: If the baby's meconium is tested, it will show evidence of use of meth by the mother. 
Get regular antenatal care.
