i have been on norco now for 6 years from 4 to 6 a day and percoset after an accident when i fell on the ice and broke my femur.  i want to get off and see if my need is mental or not i am almost too afraid not to take them?

Gentle wean: Hydrocodone &amp; oxycodone aren't good long term on the liver. When was the last time your liver function (LFTs) were checked? Knowing what this # is is helpful with determining what 6 years of ingestion has done to your liver. A gentle wean over 5-6 months (cut out a dose each month) is probably what you'll need in order to come off of these without withdrawal issues. It is quite do-able.

i suffer from moderate ra. im allergic to nsaids and steroids. i take norco for my pain. what is the true difference between norco and oxycodone?

Norco is: hydrocodone and acetaminophen in different combinations.  It does not contain oxycodone.

my dr gave me norco 10mg 1 tab prn and phenergan 25mg for my knee cause i injured it going see orthopedic can i take both of them at same time. ?

Pain : Yes the Norco is for pain and the Phenergan is to prevent any upset of your stomach caused by the Norco

Tough: If any person develops dependency on the opioids tapering off should be a slow process to get you to a very low dose. The problem is how will your pain be managed? Some patients will need medication assisted treatment with buprenorphine

Nothing wrong: some people react to medications differently. Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) can definitely cause headaches fo some patients. Ask your doc for an alternative.

my wife has moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis.on few medications for ra. but can't take any nsaids at all. she is allergic to all nsaids(rash n swell) all including the new nsaids celebrex. i hate 4 her to be on norco for life.any suggestions?

AERD: Your poor wife, sounds miserable.
I wonder if she has Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD) aka  NSAIDS sensitivity?  See an 
Allergist to determine if she would be a candidate for DESENSITIZATION

just had emergency appendix surgery. it had blockage. how long does it take to heal with scope. he gave norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 7mg 1-2 tabs can i take 2 at same time.

Give it time.: Emergent surgery is especially rapid, necessarily, so healing can take longer than you may expect.  And, no, you really should not take more than 10mg Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) at once.  Two of those pills at the same time would be too much.

Ouch!: The fluid from the ruptured cyst can be quite irritating to the peritoneum.  If a patient wasn't getting prompt relief with a pain medication such as Narco I would consider adding a potent anti-inflammatory and would even consider some acupuncture or Cold Laser Therapy.  Unfortunately,  these later modalities are still not commonly accessible.  Also, if not better soon, confirm diagnosis.

can you take norco 3 years past the expiration date?

: Remember it is a narcotic. But probably no harm in trying if you have not had allergy to it or been addicted.  Should only be use for severe pain.  Discuss with local pharmacist and go to drugs.com for more info.

is it okay to take robaxin (methocarbamol) and norco together?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Norco is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen.  Robaxin (methocarbamol) is a muscle relaxant.  They can be taken together.  However, when taking together, you might experience more drowsiness.
