No effect: Orgasms have no effect on getting pregnant. If you ovulate and make eggs and sperm gets to it, fertilization will likely occur with or without orgasm. If pregnancy is not desired, use protection. Good health.

Yes: Steroids (illegal kind) will reduce sperm count. Medical steroids (for many illnesses) can also affect reproductive potential but to a lesser extent.

Shouldn't be: A pregnancy termination normally doesn't change one's ability to conceive unless an infection occurred and damage to the uterine lining happened. Ovulation shouldn't change either.

Any time: There is no latest for doing a pregnancy test but there are too late for some of the responses to the results and there is a point at which pregnancy becomes so obvious that it is unnecessary. Hope this helps.

Better test: At this point in the pregnancy it is usually not necessary to check the BHCG rise. A better test is a sonogram. Towards the end of the 5th week and early 6th week a fetal pole can be seen via transvaginal sonogram. This can be done to look for  heart beat. This is a better way to determine if there is a normal pregnancy developing inside the uterus.

Usually now: Usually urine pregnancy test is positive after about 2-3 weeks of implantation...So if you are 3 weeks late for your period, the urine pregnancy test from reputable manufacturer should be positive if you are pregnanant.

In general, yes: In general, pregnancy dates are estimates, plus or minus one week. That means the date of January 15 is an estimate, plus or minus one week. Conception is one moment in time, when the sperm enters the egg. Conception happens during a small part of one day... but nobody knows for sure the exact day or the exact moment it happens, in a natural pregnancy. That's just the way life works.

Doubling Effect : In the 1st trimester, we expect HCG levels to double every 48-72 hours in early days. I am assuming you are around 4 weeks right now? A single HCG value doesn't give enough information about the health or viability of the pregnancy.  From 1200-6000, the HCG usually takes 72-96 hours to double. Above 6000 iu, the HCG often takes over four days to double. So, the rate of increase slows.
