Normal: Your ESR is in normal range. However, your doc will be best to comment on it based on your medical conditions and reasons for why it was checked.

Anemia: It is more likely that your irregular or heavy bleeding would lead to your iron def anemia rather than other way around. Iron can cause constipation or some abdominal discomfort. You may need to talk to your doctor about birth control pills or other types of hormones to help control your cycle.

No: Only in a special situation where an anemic person&#x27;s blood is urgently needed would anyone want to take an anemic person&#x27;s blood donation... because it would make the donor even more anemic. Perhaps if an anemic person were the only matching donor remaining in town, and a tranfusion was emergently needed... but that situation should not happen anywhere in modern America.

Yes, sometimes: If you are losing gross blood, you need to be on stronger medicine.  Low HGB is one good reason for headaches.  Talk to your crohn's doctor.  If your disease is active, there are good drugs to usually control it.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. is it okay to take iron pills (65mg) ,b6 vitamin (100mg) and biotin pills (5000mcg) together? or should i alternate them? i need the iron pills and i heard b6 helps with blood circulation, wanted to add biotin because of skin and hair benefits. thx!!

Iron: Iron supplements are best taken with food to avoid stomach irritation and add a stool softener daily to prevent constipation. I recommend taking the other supplements either before or after taking iron. Be aware that iron can make stools appear black. Your pharmacist can also advise you about your medications.

Not necessarily: If your anemia has been determined to be caused by blood loss, there is probably no need to see a hematologist.  If the anemia persists despite iron treatment (and preventing further blood loss), then a hematologist consultation might be indicated.

LOOK FOR THE SOURCE: Anemia is common in female but not that low
blood transfusion and iron will help bring the count up but your doctor has to make an effort to look for the source of your anemia
it is not normal to go that low without a reason.
