Gonorrhea shot: I am sorry to report but you may have been given the wrong treatment.  You took the right drug for chlamydia, but the wrong drug for gonorrhea.  There is a drug resistant gonorrhea that has swept  the western world making all pills ineffective for treating this. Most public health and other std experts always treat for both  gc and chlamydia.

Chlamydia treatment: Probably you were given a single dose of azithromycin, 1 gram. It sometimes upsets the stomach like this. However, as long as vomiting is more than a half hour after taking it, enough is absorbed to do the job. After &quot;a few hours&quot;, it should work just fine. Still, always best to be retested after 2-3 months in case of treatment failure or reinfection. Also make sure partner(s) treated.

Chlamydia in females is often "silent"and devoid of any outward symptoms for detection other than testing. It can also cause future infertility through tubal blockage if no properly treated.

Two types of antibiotics are usually required.Clarification of your status and exclusion of other treatable STD'd is part of the regular workup. Sex too soon!: Chlamydia is a small bacteria with an extracellular infectious phase (resistant to antibiotics) and an intracellular phase where antibiotics to which it is sensitive can kill it. The antibiotic must be present at therapeutic levels during the entire 48 hour life cycle of the organism to kill it. The antibiotic has to be absorbed & concentrate in cells.  No sex for 7 after antibiotic initiation!

: Obviously you should have waited to have sex until you were assured you were clear of all infection. Your medication should still be effective, but you could have transmitted infection. Have your partner get checked.
