Exercise and aspirin: Of course the answer may be different if the nerve is truly pinched & is either in the shoulder or in the neck. The best treatments for mechanical problems, like pinched nerve, are mechanical. Symptomatic relief with anti-inflammatories may reduce pain but more importantly allow corrective exercise to be used to lessen symptoms. Find out what caused your trouble, then do something about it.

Depends: A literal pinched nerve in the shoulder can be treated with physical therapy vs injections vs surgery.  Often, however, a sensation of a pinched nerve in the shoulder is caused by a cervical pinched nerve, and even shoulder pathology such as a rotator cuff tendonitis could be mistaken for a pinched nerve in the shoulder.  If your symptoms do not improve over time, see a physician.

OK: Taking a medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pak with those meds is safe, you should be fine.  Be sure to take the medrol (methylprednisolone) with food.  good luck.

have odd feel in left shoulder/arm for week like pinched nerve or something w/ tingling & sleep feel. heart feels normal. would it hurt to take motrin?

No: You can take a Motrin to see if it helps, as long as you have been told not to take medications such as Motrin. Even though Motrin might help, it would be wise to see a doctor to give a full history and to get a full physical exam to figure out what is causing the pain. Best of luck!

Maybe: Could be. Some times there is overlap in the symptoms of rotator cuff from shoulder disease versus C5 radiculitis from a herniated c45 disc or spur. Physical exam and/or MRI of  cspine get clarify this.

Pinched Nerve: Sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your back.  I would suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist to evaluate you further to evaluate what level and what can be done to treat you.  There are interventional treatments besides medications and surgeries that might reduce or  eliminate the pain altogether.

Local therapy: Use Aleve (naproxen) or Advil if not allergic. Google passive range of motion exercises for shoulder injury. Use BioFreeze as a liniment and get seen at your local Health Dept. clinic: not having health insurance does not excuse the need for a medical exam- get examined.
