It depends: it depends mostly on how severe the episode was, whether the conditions that brought on the episode are still present, and whether any treatment that you're giving it is effective or not. You should abstain from caffeine, alcohol, and  tobacco. It would be wise to avoid any Foods that you notice bring on your symptoms. Follow whatever medication regimen your doctor has put you on. BuSpar (buspirone): It generally takes about 4 weeks for patients to start noticing a difference with BuSpar (buspirone) ... However, to be honest, this is more of an average than it is a rule of thumb (sometimes it's 2 weeks, sometimes 6). Hope that helps!

Buspar (buspirone): Unusual movements of the head & neck muscles has been reported as a side effect, related to dose increase or high dose. Please inform your prescribing doctor asap.

Overdosing: There is no scientific evidence of drug safety when more than four or five drugs affecting one's brain are taken at one time. This significant list of medications taken together raise all kinds of warning flags.  In my practice when someone is on this many mental health medications at once i always request a second opinion from a different mental health professional. This is not safe.

72 hours: The half life of Buspar (buspirone) is up to 12 hours.  Therefore it should be out of your system in 72 hours.

Buspirone: Buspirone works by modulating serotonin through the 1A receptor.  There are also some effects on dopamine receptors.  It is approved for generalized anxiety disorder.  Studies have shown it can be an effective addition to antidepressant medications.  It generally takes 2-4 weeks to see an effect and sometimes longer for full effect.

i took 1 pill of buspirone 5 mg and got a bad side effects. how long does it take to get out of my system ? also can i take sudafed  while i have buspar in my system?

I would allow: 24 hours to have effects of Buspirone completely out (it's probably sooner but I would allow outer limit) If you are taking Buspar for ANXIETY I would NOT take Sudafed since Sudafed side effect=anxiety!!

Ask Dr.: Hopefully, doctors who use drugs for off-lable conditions either have read many supporting articles on the effectiveness and safety - and/or have established for themselves a good familiarity. Ask what they know. Being off-label - general publications don't address them. Finally, each may differ - discover how you feel and tell them.

Mmmhhh: It should not be particularly dangerous in theory. But the only right way to do it is by notifying your dr first. Any modification of what your dr prescribed should be discussed so you clearly understand all risks, benefits and alternatives; and obtaining the approval of the prescribing dr.
