Genital warts: Genital warts can be a clinical manifestation of human papilomavirus .  Up to 90 percent of them are associated with HPV.  Although treatment can get rid of them they often recur in 20 to 30 percent of people.  Spontaneous regression occurs in 40%.  Many warts remain asymptomatic and can last for months.  Treatment is medical and sometimes surgical.

Depends: The primary infection usually clears within 2 years spontaneously in people with a normal immune system. Many have visible warts removed (laser, frozen, chemical agents) but the germ itself will often hibernate in your system forever and may recur.

More likely the...: More likely the one who did not get Gardasil HPV vaccine as a young teen, or the one who did not use a condom every time. Otherwise, it's anybody's guess. Preventive care is important. If one's primary care doctor sees genital warts on the skin, there may also be HPV lesions on the cervix on the inside. This is why every eligible boy or girl needs to be vaccinated.

Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Basics: HPV is a family of virus strains that includes at least 4 strains that produce all genital warts. Warts on other skin surfaces come from other strains of HPV. All strains have the potential to reappear months or years later. You can have them removed by laser/freezing or application of chemicals. Most people will clear the strain within 2 yrs with or without treatment.

: The same situation is the subject of 2-3 other questions in the past two days, except that was HPV found with pap smear. This isn't rare. Almost everybody gets genital HPV during their early sexually active years, which can then lie dormant and reactivate years later. You're either having reactivation of an old infection, or your wife had reactivation and transmitted HPV/warts to you.

: In medicine we are taught to never say never but the cited contact is unlikely to pas genital warts. Resurgence of the warts after removal is rare and the common method of transfer is with exposed warts in place.

: Once you are infected by a genital wart strain of HPV the germ is usually cleared by the body in two years. The warts can be frozen/lasered off or destroyed by chemicals to speed removal. HPV is a family if viruses that can lie dormant in the body for years, decades. It can cause recurrent symptoms in some depending on their immune system response.

Probably months: I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to have them treated. Without treatment, they might clear up in a couple of months, but more likely several months and sometimes they persist a couple of years or more.

Warts: Warts can be treated either by "burning" them using concentrated special acid solution, using creams like Aldara (imiquimod) that stimulate immune response on your skin where the wart is, or by freezing them. Each one treatment should be tailored to specific manifestation of disease in your case, and to your desire as well. So best thing get an appt with a gynecologist and discuss in detail.
