Needs follow up..: If the pregnancy test is still positive you need a formal blood pregnancy test for confirmation. Sometimes after an abortion there may be some pregnancy products left in your uterus and this requires reevaluation and removal before they cause other problems like for example infections. See your GYN provider as soon as possible.

Seek Help ASAP: You should seek help immediately. After a procedure like this, bleeding should only last about 2 to 3 days at the most. If you are still bleeding, you should contact the office that did the procedure or seek emergency help, because it may be or become a more serious issue.

Leave it if you can: An IUD can make the next 2-3 cycles more uncomfortable and cause more bleeding.  The post-operative period after an abortion is uncomfortable.  Start taking ibuprofen or Naproxen for the next 24-48 hours as the directions state on the box.  That should help.
