how long does it take augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) to work?

Depends on what?: For a uti, it should work within a day; igf everything else (eg. Cellulitis, bacterial sinusitis), your symptoms may flare and become worse for a day or so before it starts to get better. Hope this helps!

sinusitis for 1 month. 10 days augmentin did not work. now on doxycycline for 5/10 and still not helping. ct scan shows sinusitis. cannot breathe, just started flonase, washes, steam. what next? does it take more antibiotics? stronger?

multiple bacterial infections last year. i had to take amoxicillin 4 times for 12 days each. i was just diagnosed with strep. i was prescribed amox-clav. will this work or possible i am resistant due to using amoxicillin so much ?

: Reasonable question. If your strep infection is well documented and causing symptoms wherever it is (throat? skin cellulitis or abscess? other?), not treating probably would be much more risky than not doing so because of resistance concerns. Discuss with your doctor. Consider infectious diseases consultation about both this issue and possible reasons for so many bacterial infections.

how long does it take a ten day course of augmentin 875-125 to leave your system? i finished the medication seven days ago.

Definitely out: The medication has quite a short half-life, which is why it is taken 2x a day- since the first dose in the morning wears away, then you need a second dose. Generally we think of 5x the half-life as a 'complete' elimination of the drug - so you are well beyond that... it would have been totally gone after a couple days. If you're having symptoms of some kind though, you should check with a doc.

Interaction: There is no interaction between Augmentin or Cefdinir with either Lamictal or fycompa. However, there is interaction between 
fycompa and Lamictal.

: The pepcid may diminish optimal absorption of augmentin so you may want to separate taking them by about two hours to optimize absorption of augmentin. Augmentin is best taken just before eating.

i currently take lisinopril. i am prescribed augmentin  is there a decongestant that i can take.

Coricidin HBP: With high blood pressure the safest is Coricidin HBP.Other decongestants will raise Bloo Pressure but this one no or not as much.If you are having alot of nasal congestion then ok to do netipot(nasal rinses) for relief and a nasal steroid such as Flonase.
