can my child get allergy testing done if he is sick and has a fever? i need to know if i should take him to his apt this morning with a fever. will they do the testing?

Postpone: If he is ill, then it would be best to reschedule so that he feels well at the start of testing. There is a blood test panel called a CAP allergy test which can be performed as well. 
The panel should be selected to include any potential triggering agent based on his history.

allergy testing on friday. i usually take 5mg zyrtec every night. can i take it tonight? then not take tomorrow until testing is done.

No: should be at least 3 - 5 days off any antihistamines, and the like medicines, even nasal or eye drops. Use saline nasal washes and OTC steroid nasal sprays if you have nasal problem, till done with the testing, good luck

Antihistamine & test: No need to fast, but for skin testing you need to be off antihistamines for five days.

: A topical lotion with an antihistamine and calamine found over the counter often provides relief. If the swelling does not subside quickly, hydrocortisone is often effective. Since the test appears to have revealed a significant reaction to cat and dog allergens, it is best to avoid these potential allergic triggers. Watch for signs of infection and please follow up with your Allergist.

Allergy Testing: It can done on the upper arm, or on the upper back. Tiny amounts of the substances being tested are injected/pricked/or scratched into the skin and the response of the skin is measured to assess for the presence of sensitivity.

Allergy Testing: Allergy testing is designed to cause a small skin reaction, but rarely ever causes any other symptoms.  You have very very minimal chance of a "major" reaction.  Only itching where the test is placed.  This can be treated with topicals and an oral antihistamine and resolves fairly quickly.
