Viral life: Most virus do not live outside a host for more than a few hours. It would be rare to find them on a bed sheet or clothing.  Common viruses are spread by contact from host to host. An example is the flu; infected individuals can spread the flu virus from the day before they begin to feel ill until 3–7 days after the start of flu symptoms.

More's not better: Zofran (ondansetron) may slow the transit time in the gut and rarely the bowels can stop moving.  Therefore potential to prolong the period of time in wh/a virus is in contact w/the gut.  In a study in children w/vomiting gastroenteritis who took zofran (ondansetron) x 48 hrs, return to the er w/diarrhea was higher in the kids w/zofran (ondansetron).  Another study gave 1 dose & the er return was less w/zofran (ondansetron) but kids had more diarrhea.

i took 150 mg of flucinazole a week ago tomorrow and got what i thought was a severve stomach virus the day after. no longer vomiting but have bad taste in mouth, nauseous, dizzy and itchy rash on palms. is this normal?

Not normal: It is likely that this was from a drug reaction and not normal.  If the problem continues to improve, I'd expect that you will fully recover in another week.  If not, see your doctor since it may also be from something else.

Gastroenteritis: Depending on the etiology, symptoms can last from days to weeks.  After a evacuation of the GI tract you may feel constipated until you fill up with food again.  You can develop a relative lactose intolerance for several weeks post some infections, some also have difficulty with fresh fruits and vegetables for a week or so afterwards.

4 days = maybe safe: Contagiousness varies among different "stomach viruses" and among different people, so is not easily predictable. However, one can feel safer if the sick person wakes up on Day 5 without any symptoms the preceding 4 days. If unlucky, she can still catch a virus and come down with the illness. Food poisoning is usually less contagious, but depends on the bacteria type.

: Time to see pediatrician for an exam and to test stool, it would be unusual for a virus to keep reinfecting them, a parasite, if having pets or community acquired c diff for example would be more likely. Hand hygiene remains the most important measures for them at this point to stop transmission.

Stomach flu can be: Transmitted by eating infected food or liquids or through contact w an infected person. So, yes interpersonal contact (not necessarily sex) can communicate this disease.
