: Fever is natural response of immune system to various infections. If fever is not over 101F( 38 C) it is no necessary take medication to lower it . Keep well hydrated, rest . It takes it course to recovery. If you really unwell ( short of breath, …) contact your doctor.

Flu is bad: Influenza this year and most years is a very nasty experience and it lasts five to ten days. 
Any infection may be followed by a period of convalescence, something known to us all but which is poorly understood. In any case, take it easy, drink fluids plus and take tylenol (acetaminophen) for headache, eat as you can with healthy foods, take vitamins and you will recover completely.

had the flu. no longer have fever but have a cut in the back of my throat it's hurts bad. swollen to the point it feels like two point in my throat touch painfully but not so much that it's hard to breath at all. i think cut may also have an infectio?

Yes: Nyquil has Tylenol (acetaminophen).  Its safe to combine Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Advil, since its different class medications.

Antipyretic: A medication such as Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can lower temperature.  If fever persists more than a few days or you have a recurrence of fever or you are getting short of breath or worse instead of better, see your doc. Hope you are better soon!  did you get a flu shot?
