hi, last friday i had an abscess cut and drained on my big toe where toe hairs typically grow. i've been told to soak it, should i use epsom salts?

both toenails removed last week. the fungal infected one burns when i soak it in warm water and epsom salt after a couple minutes. thats the only time it hurts. what can i do? theres no swelling or pus. can i stop soaking it and be fine?

: After I remove complete or partial toenails, I tell my patients to keep the pressure bandage on for 24 hours and replaced the wrap with fresh bandage and antibiotic ointment. Typically there is no damage to the nailbed unless you opt to cauterize the matrix to stop nail regrowth. They also receive a hard shoe to limit the toe from flexing which causes pain. I do not instruct to keep foot baths

i've  been constipated since december, last week i saturday i decided to drink some epsom salt and it helped a little but im constipated again. thursday i gave myself a suposetry and felt that my anus is swollen inside. can you please help me?

Abdominal pain : So many things come to mind. That list can be more focused with an in person examination. I often think of constipation as a poor balance of water in the colon, but can be from mineral imbalances, thyroid disease (low thyroid) . Have it evaluated.: Pain in that area could be due to trauma (fracture, tendon or ligamentous tear, arthritis), infection, inflammation, metabolic conditions (gout) musculoskeletal (bony over growth) or biomechanical abnormality, or neurologic conditions (neuropathy). A thorough history and physical exam and possibly laboratory and radiology exams could determine the cause.  Have it evaluated by a professional.

i had a gall bladder attack and drank epsom salts. is it possible to have adverse neurological effects? my right side is inflamed and its been months. all tests are negative for gastro problems.

Unlikely: So what were the results of the ct and the lfts. Cholecystitis doesnt cause neurological effects. Maybe antibiotic. See a gastroenterologist.

Depends on the dose: Epsom salts are Magnesium Sulfate which is safe for human consumption in limited doses.  You may notice on the epsom salt container that it can be used as a laxative, which is the effect of ingesting larger amounts of magnesium sulfate.  Ingestion of too much could lead to problems due to the laxative effect, but again a small amount should not be dangerous when used appropriately.

No: They actually tend to help the problem. If ur allergic or are having more pain or discomfort with use, please discontinue and do just warm water sitz bath.
