one of the churches i go to started to take people's temperatures when they come in cause of covid, isnt using the same thermometer on each person a good way to spread germs if they did have covid, makes me wonder if i should stop going there?

Change thermometer: Typically in these situations it is recommended to use an infrared thermometer that does not require to be touched and is easy to clean in between people. Oral or touch thermometers should be avoided unless they are sanitizing in between people and using new covers for each person. This can be cumbersome for large number of people. You should suggest infra red thermometers to them.

Not to worry: if  you do not  develop a perisistent sore throat  , you  will be  fine,   if   have sore throat  , go to  your doctor get a rapid test and   culture. . not sure  how long the bacteria will live  but chance are small to  develop strep after such espoure .

Thermometer: Depends on which ones. Mercury ones are most accurate.

Just the tip: Rectal thermometers measure core body temp, so just getting the tip inside (past the sphincter) is enough. Too far can cause pain and possibly damage, so never force it!

low temp can be due to low temp in your room or when outside and it comes up to normal as you warm up.
If you are otherwise feeling ok, there is nothing to be concerned about it
hypothyroidism can also contribute to lower body temp.

Normal body temperat: That is still in the range of normal body temperature. You are young and apparently healthy so you probably don't get sick often which is the reason you don't get fevers. A viral illness may only raise your temperature a little bit.
