No time.: Blood clots may not form properly and can even be lost in as little as an hour.  Once the blood clot has formed it takes a couple of day for it to heal in.

Pregnant ?: Nausea and vomiting with a prolonged menstrual cycle with clots are symptoms of pregnancy, but the pregnancy may be outside the uterus (ectopic). Get a serum HCG test and see your gyn doctor immediately if positive. Less urgently, see your doctor if negative for an exam and other testing.

See doctor: If you are passing clots in a period, it's likely either due to changes in hormones, pituitary, thyroid or a polyp or fibroid in uterus. Doctor can evaluate you and provide an answer. Definitely not normal to pass blood clots, though.

Irregular bleeding: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Hormonal imbalance: You should take oral iron supplement and multivitamins to prevent anemia. Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
