i have had chronic sinusitis since halloween. i have a cough, fatigue, sneezing, ear pressure and shortness of breath & dizziness when i move to fast.  i have tried otc sinus meds and nasal sprays, steam, a course of antibiotics and lots of spicy soup.  n

U need re-assessment: by an ENT or your primary doctor, you may need a different antibiotic or a different duration, at least 2-4 weeks worth of right antibiotics, even more at times, together with nasal washes, steroid nasal sprays or even short course of systemic steroids may be needed to treat bad sinusitis/middle ear infection, good luck

Sounds like: You are having a delayed reaction to environmental exposure.  Time to see a lung specialist, a pulmonologist if you have suffered with it for 3 months.

what happens if you inhale spray varnish containing acetone and n butyl acetate? accidentally inhaled some and developed sinusitis but should i see doctor? using dymista and have phenoxymethylpenicillin. have slight sinus pain but discharge settled?

: If or greenish discharge occurs, another antibiotic may be prescribed. Continue your medications, use nasal saline rinses which often relieve symptoms of congestion. Watch for cough and shortness of breath. Avoid contact with chemicals and avoid smoke exposure.

: If your temperature is above 100.5, a viral illness is likely. Post nasal drainage for the resolving chemical sinusitis can cause the throat symptom but you should feel the drainage though.

: It may be the inhaled varnish in addition to other things causing the irritation. Exercise patience, and cut down on household fumes and dusts to see if that helps the symptoms. The antibiotics obviously did not work because the symptoms are not from bacterial infection. It is important to avoid fumes to prevent future re-occurrences.

Check teeth again: Do you still have your wisdom teeth? If so they tend to build up plaque which causes mouth odor. Do you floss every day? Rarely halitosis (bad breath) can come from diseased tonsils. Are they large or painful? Do you have symptoms of sinusitis (headache, fever, cough, nasal congestion)? Sinusitis can cause bad breath in some cases. Try flossing more and have wisdom teeth removed.
