Maybe ...: Oral doses of Metronidazole  can make some people feel sick if they later drink alcohol. It might be possible for a person to  absorb enough of the topical Metronidazole to cause the same effect. Caveat emptor!

Accepted Answer

: I would avoid it. The absorption of the medication into the blood of this gel is not as much through vaginal membranes  as it would be if you take it in pill form. However, your body can develop a very nauseating reaction if even a small amount of the med enters your blood.

No special diet: You do not have to modify diet with vaginal metronidazole.  I would recommmend condom use while using,  but you can resume sexual activity at your convience.

Fine together: I am not sure I am aware of "drinking" 81 mg worth of aspirin (the equivalent of a "baby aspirin"), but that aside, these medications are not known to not negatively interact, so taking them together should be fine.

Drug interaction: with the vaginal Gel 1.3%  Alcoholic
beverages and preparations containing ethanol or propylene glycol should not be consumed during and for at least 24 hours after Metronidazole vaginal gel 1.3%  Some patients have experience, (abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and flushing)due to alcohol while using the gel. I will recommended to hold for at least 24 hrs after your last dose.

Can happen: Sometimes you need a second course of Flaggyl or another antibiotic. Best to get an exam if you have not had one

Metrogel residue: It is the residue of the Metrogel Rx. that you just completed and will go away over time.

Any chance UR pregnt: If this clearly looked like tissue and not blood clot, it is possible you could have been pregnant and miscarried. Saving the tissue to have a doctor send to pathology can help know. Even if you did miscarry, perhaps a blood test or ultrasound could help know. Not likely the Metronidazole gel had any influence.
