How to put the tablets in your vagina
1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Put one tablet on your finger.
3. Put a drop of water on the tablet.
4. Put the tablet into your vagina and gently push it up as high
as possible.
5. Repeat with the other tablets.
6. Rest on your back, in bed, for about 30 minutes.

i am 4weeks pregnant and i put 4 misoprostol under my tongue and 1 in my vagina 4 hours ago and i'm just getting cramps and diarrhoea but no bleeding why?

: It takes more than four hours for a medical abortion to occur, and sometimes misoprostol does not work.  See your GYN physician who prescribed the medication for guidance, as further treatment may be necessary to complete this intended process.

Not really : It is better if we perform outside the period and also generally no need of using cytotec until unless there is cervical stenosis

Sure.: Cytotec (misoprostol) will soften your cervix and (along with a NSAID such as motrin) can make the endometrial biopsy a much less uncomfortable experience.

im scheduled for endometrial biopsy in the morning and started a heavy period today   also supposed to take misoprostol 3 hours before.  is it safe?

EMB: EMB uses a small tube passed into the uterus to form a suction and pull some of the lining cells into it for evaluation.  If your are bleeding it will just fill with blood and will get minimal to no lining so therefore will be a useless test.  Discuss with your GYN but I suspect they will want to delay the EMB for a time when you are not bleeding. If delayed, you don't need the Misoprostol.

Heavy period?: It may not be an ideal time to have an endometrial biopsy, since "heavy period" may include shedding of the tissue important to evaluate with the biopsy.  At 47, there may be a considerable degree of endometrial hyperplasia, which may be better sampled after cessation of bleeding.  Although "bv" is a local infection, suitable treatment should have reduced the risk.

Yes: A lot of doctors and clinics have insertion of Cytotec (misoprostol) as part of their protocol for a medical abortion in addition, of course, to mifepristone. It does add effectiveness for the procedure. As your dr. Likely told you, Cytotec (misoprostol) causes smooth muscle contractions and helps to expel the pregnancy and decrease bleeding. : It is not perfect, success rate of mifepristone alone is 87% by a US study but no study has been done such in your case, i.e. taking misosprotol before mifepristone. For a complete abortion, you may need another dose of misoprostol 24 hours after taking mifepristone.

i've taken 4 pills of cytotec (misoprostol) into my vagina. i heard it helps with abortion. it's been 4 hours but there was no specific reaction. what should i do?

If nothing happens : In 24 hours of taking the medication you should consult with your obgyn. At 12 weeks of gestational age, you could have excess bleeding and difficulty completely passing the pregnancy. Again consult with your obgyn if no bleeding in 24 hours.
