Accepted Answer

Not very: Led lights can be dazzling but are not laser.  They do not provide a concentrated, focal light but a more diffuse light which the eye can easily handle.  It is not comfortable to stare at an led light but not harmful.  This of course is not the case with laser light which carries the usual cautions.

Accepted Answer

No: Assuming a normal brain and motor system, you will move away from overly bright lights.  If you insist on staring into a bright light, it isn't by accident.

Accepted Answer

Probably nothing: It is very unlikely you did any damage to your eye because of the flashlight unless you feel pain or a tearing like sensation or any other atypical symptoms and change in your vision then I would not worry at all.

was using bright led light bulb a few inches from face to do online interviews. (1 hour at a time) as i'm doing it, i feel dizzy at times. it goes away when i turn light off. can these lights too close to the eyes/face cause this effect?

Probably : Exposure to too bright light, besides leading  to glare,  may cause  particular  damage to  the eye.  The  type and  extent of  damage depends  on the brightness (luminance) of the light source, its angular size (which partly depends on how far away it is), its spectrum and the duration of exposure.

could gazing at home led light or ice cold compress on eyes afterwards lead to retina or cornea damage causing blurred vision of bright objects?

Not usually.: But, of course, it depends on how bright the light and how long you stare. Cool compresses are even less likely to cause these problems. If you are having changes in your vision, please see a board certified ophthalmologist in your area for a quick examination. Eye sight is a precious thing, and should be protected.

Depends: ...On why they are not white to begin with. If blepharitis (inflammation of eyelids) , you can do lid scrubs with baby shampoo or ocusoft scrubs. If dryness is the problem, buy over the counter tear drops. "get-the-red-out" drops should be used rarely, because they can make dryness and irritation worse in the long run.

No eye damage: No damage at all. Bright light can interfere with going back to sleep, but inothing to worry about if you're getting up and starting your day.

Wear sunglasses and : protect your eyes! You only have two of them for life. Get excellent quality ones to block dangerous UV Rays out. Your eyes are worth it. They weren't designed to take wear and glare!

Cool compresses: Probably the easiest way is to run cold water on a cloth and put this over your eyes. Some people also use cucumber slices. You do not want to put ice on your eyes but something cool can help take out the puffiness.

Accepted Answer

Eye strain : Indoor light which is too dim or too bright could cause eye strain.  Common symptoms of eye strain include burning, stinging or watery eyes and sometimes difficulty focusing on objects or words. So try to use light in moderation only!
