is it normal to get cramps 8 days before period?

This may be due to: Pms.Pms sxs can include feeling tearful, irritability, mood swings, anger, depressed mood, change in sex drive  & anxiety.  These may be accompanied by swelling of the breasts (or extremities), weight gain, abdominal bloating, cramps, nausea,  ^ urinary frequency, overeating, headaches (to include migraines), dizziness, fainting & palpitations. Sleep may be disturbed with problems w acne or hives.

Irregular periods: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &amp;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Occasional symptoms?: A doctor can check to see if there is any medical issue, if a woman has mild menstrual-related symptoms. Many women have some variation of their mucus discharge, their periods, or a missed period on occasion. Some women feel normal after a few days, but others do have bothersome symptoms and follow-up with doctors. If significant cramps happen every period, getting checked out is a good idea.

Weird cycle: It is important to not panic just because one cycle if a little off from the others. The main issue is what is the pattern over time. If your cycles return to normal over the next few months then one abnormal cycle is not an issue. Always make sure your pregnancy test is negative. If you are not on birth control consider starting which will also give you better cycle control.

Hopefully: this is the beginning of less painful periods.  A woman's body changes throughout her life and it is common for the cramps associated with a period to be worse during teen years.  At least this period is a little easier to tolerate and hopefully it is a sign of decreased cramping with future periods.

YES: Irregular bleeding after taking the morning after pill is very common.  It is due to the hormone levels dropping after taking the pill.

OBGYN/BC: If you don't get cramps with your periods, i'd like to get a pregnancy test as with the iud you still can get pregnant with increased risk to ectopic pregnancy if pregnancy was to occur.

See your dr: A late period with cramping could be a sign of  pregnancy.  Could be other causes (hormones, etc).  Do a pregnancy test.  If you want to be pregnant, you should be taking prenatal vitamins.  If you don't want to be, talk with your doctor about birth control options.

i did not get my period during inactive pills. this has never happened before. technically, i should have gotten my period about a week ago. i tested for pregnancy this morning and its negative. is it too early to test? have mild cramps for a week?

: Your period is probably delayed this month and there is always a first time, i.e. never say never. Urine pregnancy test should be positive after missing period for 7 days if conception has occurred. If you do not have period within the next 3 days, you can redo urine test with an early morning urine sample.
