how do you reduce skin peeling while using differin (adapalene) gel?

Peeling skin: The makers of differin (adapalene) actually advise users to use moisturizer. Specifically, they mention a moisturizer that is non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) while your skin is still a little damp. All moisturizers should be put on while your skin is a little damp, by the way. The fda also advises users to use moisturizer if you have the side effect of dry skin, or use the product less frequently.

No need.: Most retinoid creams (including differin) cause peeling sometimes, especially during cold weather. Often, all you have to do is apply a little less each night. You can also use a light moisturizer if you wish (one that says "non-comedogenic" on the label). If the peeling persists, try skipping a day of treatment. But exfoliation just causes more peeling in most cases.

Yes: This is exactly what one should expect from a topical retinoid (differin (adapalene) is a retinoid). In the early studies on this class of medicine the researchers felt that if a patient is not getting red and peeling then the strength of the retinoid is not high enough. This side effect can often resolve or can be alleviated with a simple noncomedogenic moisturizer. Good question.

See below: Sounds like the t-gel is not agreeing with you.  You may need a different shampoo with you having scalp psoriasis.  See a dermatologist if you haven't already to get some topical ointments that may help.

: Advantage???? look at these as doing different things. The BP body wash contain chemicals that allow loose skin cells to be removed from the skin surface more than simple washing &amp; thus help uncover deeper areas for treatment. Much of the other gels/creams dig down deeper into layers that still remain plugging pores. The effect of their use differs and can lead to more side effects like burns.

Fungus/ Maceration: Ketoconazole can be an effective treatment for fungus between toes. The area must be cleaned and dried daily and the medication must be applied twice daily for at least 4 weeks.

son has issue with skin peeling/cracking/bleeding on his hands only. saltwater related, as he stopped sailing and it heeled up. using lipocream twice daily 45mins, but only just containing the issue. hands have become so soft and sensitive?

: It seems it is due to the sea water and am happy he is better but he should be checked by a dermatologist for proper management.
