But bites: The firm mass at one bite site may be a small blood clot(hematoma) from bleeding under the skin which occurred at the time of the bite. As long as these bite sites are not hot and reddened no secondary infection is likely and you can apply a cortisone type ointment to relieve itching. The hematoma may very slowly resolve.

Stye: This is the beginning of a typical stye of the eyelid.  The pain is from inflammation of the skin gland that is blocked.  You can treat it with frequent (4-5 times per day) applications of a very warm (not hot ) washcloth  held over the lid for 5 minutes at a time.  This usually will get rid of it.  If present after 5-6 days, then see your ophthalmologist.

Need more info: It could be that the blood underneath the skin has tattooed the skin or some other esoteric reason. Consult with a dermatologist.

Bruise: The common bruise will discolor the skin starting with a dark blue hue and slowly lightening over a period of three or four weeks to finally completely resolve.  No treatment is usually necessary for the bruise.  However if the structures under the bruise are injuried, then you should see your doctor.
