: As an approximation, probably 80-90% of secondary syphilis cases include skin rash. Absence of rash in someone at risk for secondary syphilis (on the basis of exposure history or other symptoms) reduces the likelihood of secondary syphilis, but certainly does not eliminate the possibility. If there is any risk or concern for syphilis, blood tests always are necessary whether or not there is a rash

Any STD can be: transmitted through oral sex, including syphilis, if the other person is infected (which they may not know). Gonorrhea, chlamydia and HPV(human papilloma virus) are more common than syphilis these days and can be transmitted this way,  This is why use of condoms for oral sex, as well as anal or vaginal sex is so important.

: At 6 weeks the tests are considered conclusive- within the accuracy of the test

in reference to my previous questions(oral sex from a girl and now taking doxy as a precaution)i understand syphilis is possible in this scenario but how common is it. would the clinic give me penicillin as a precaution as well. im just freaked out?

: The chance of syphilis in this situation is near zero and I would have recommended you not take doxycycline, or that you get penicillin. But as long as you have started doxycycline, you should continue to take it for 2 weeks at a dose of 100 mg twice daily.

No usually...: If the folliculitis is promptly treated no scarring expected. But some people have scarring tendency...like Keloid formation. Rather Herpes may be more possibly resemble  folliculitis. Syphilis will produce painless ulcer......which heals on its own. If you are past that stage.....secondary syphilis can produce rash......different than folliculitis. HIV can cause rash....resembling folliculitis
