Location?: If the:diabetes is sever and it is locted on the foot it amy be nes managed b a physician or podiatrist. Otherwise duct tape by itself replaced once every few days can safely macerate the wart and cause it to peel off. Be careful with over the counter acids, they may too irritating for a diabetic. Topicla5 fu could be used twice a day .It is prescription cream.

Maybe wart?: The question is, who asked you to make the diagnosis? You've already determined that a bump on your finger is a wart, but there are hundreds of reasons for bumps on the fingers. If you have not seen a dermatologist take a look at this and make a diagnosis and treat it appropriately, as indicated, you should definitely see a dermatologist now.

Wart cure: There are several otc medications that you can use to get rid of wards. One study used freeze treatment every 2 weeks until its gone (about 8 weeks). Covering the wart with duct tape can hasten the cure. Used alone, getting rid of the wart usually takes a long time. Hope that helps.

Can take a bit: Compound w is one of several treatments for warts which works by trying to irritate it chemically to break it down.  2 weeks to 1 month is typical.  Sometimes the wart will get red, black, irritated or inflamed. While there is no perfect method for wart removal, i find the most effective is having a doc use liquid nitrogen which is colder than the otc versions and may clear it faster.

Acid and scraping: A otc acid and scraping with a pumice bar will help.  If not, you can use the liquid nitrogen, liquid nitrous oxide (this is what i like to use). You can also try oral cimetadine (400 mg three times a day for 12-16 weeks). This is very safe and had the side effect of getting rid of warts for many people of adult size and weight (japma november 1, 1995 vol. 85 no. 11 717-718 ).
