Of course: If you are applying heat treatment to your back with a hot water bottle, lying on it will put the heat where you want it.  Be mindful that the cap is screwed on tight so the bottle doesn't leak.

Many Possibilities: Depending on how long it's been going on, i would consider an evaluation by a spine specialist.  Sometimes it could be a muscle imbalance, early onset arthritis or scoliosis.  Also could be a pinched nerve/herniated disc.  Either way it might be good to figure it out and get appropriate treatment.

: In most people, A hot water bottle will not affect upper respiratory congestion. You are better off with Over-the-counter decongestants and any medication that your doctor has prescribed. Good luck.

Get help.: If you are having chest pain or head pain that is different than usual, I'd recommend evaluation.  If it is a situation  that you have experienced before, adding deep, slow breathing and relaxing stimuli, like a quiet room or soft music, can help with pain.

These trigger points can be associated with pain and associated tightness of the muscle which can then result in stiffness and difficulty  with movement. Try this: apply a cold pack for 15 minutes then apply a hot pack for 10 to 15 minutes. Finally, take a baking rolling pain and roll it over the most tender spots for 5".

Yes if not treated: Gout is caused by high uric acid which forms crystals in the joints (typically in the 1st toe).  Warm  soaks may help temporarily dissolve the crystals but the best treatment should be  provided by your physician. Get evaluated for causes of high uric acid levels and possibly treated with Allopurinol or other uric acid lowering meds. Indocin, (indomethacin) cochicine, or other ant iinflammatory for acute attacks.

Dr to examine testis: Testicle pain means a trip to the doctor right away because the testicle's blood supply can be twisted off (called torsion). When that happens, the testicle can die. Other causes of testicle pain include trauma, infection, twisting of an appendix of a testicle (a small lump next to a testicle), etc...  Since one usually cannot tell if his testicle is twisted, an exam by the doctor is needed.
