i can't seem to regulate my body temperature.  i get extremely hot then ice cold and it happens most at night. what would cause this is happen?

Nothing serious: Would like to know more information, but in the absence of tremor, weight loss or gain, new medications, then is not likely to be a sign of illness! If other symptoms develop then seek medical attention

It's all physiology: Bacteria and viruses that cause human illnesses have specific requirements; oxygen, sugar, protein, and a limited temperature range   for life and replication.  Immune system messengers, cytokines, cause the perception iof chilling which causes lots of rapid muscle contractions  (shivering)  generating heat (fever) slowing pathogen reproduction .  With chills we bundlle up &amp; reduce body heat loss

Many reasons: There are many possible causes for temperature intolerance.  Most often it is either a hormonal issue or simply a matter of being intolerant of warm temperatures.  If this is a change for you it is worthwhile to have lab tests done and a general examination

It's HOT in UAE!: Hi. Where you live must make your feeling hot even worse! I would suggest you see your doctor. You could have some unrecognized infection or hyperthyroidism; other things are possible too. Starting off with some basic labs (CBC/diff, TSH and free T4, CMP, ESR) would be a good start. Good luck, and stay in the air conditioning!

i would like to know can epilepsy cause body temperature from hot to cold?

Temperature: Temperature typically rises with a seizure secondary to muscle contraction.  A temperature can drop though after the seizure. Cold therapy is used to treat status epilepticus. There are focal seizures that could effect the thermal center of the brain and theoretically could decrease temperature, but I am unaware of this being described.

can sle lupus affect body temperature regulation? ex: hot then 10 min later cold etc.

Possible, not common: SLE is a great masquarader to cause a variety of different symptoms in different people, including regulation of body temperature if parts of brain controlling temp is affected. A thorough evaluation and monitoring of your disease by a rheumatologist is warranted. Feel better:)

Different antibiotic: The ab you are taking has a narrow spectrum at this point. See your surgeon.

Medical Care: The best thing to do is ask the desk clerk or the concierge for information about medical care.  A quick look on the internet shows a couple of hospitals there.  Likely the resort has some tylenol (acetaminophen) he can take and decongestants until morning.  If you feel he needs to go to the hospital then ask the hotel personal for help.

: Continue to monitor your temperature.  Watch for signs of cough and shortness of breath. If this occurs, a screening test is indicated.  Pre menopausal symptoms are another possibility.
