High : High cortisol levels should be confirmed and further evaluated by an internist or endocrinologist. Salivary testing is not mainstream and could be misleading. Stress can result in elevations of cortisol but these will usually suppress with Dexamethasone (this is part of the further testing).

See details: Saliva hormone tests are generally unreliable except for determining levels of testosterone and another hormone known as DHEA so I would suggest that you save your money. Blood tests are much more accurate.

Testing: I have listened to lectures advocating either.  I am aware of clinics that do serum levels and those that do saliva. Both types of testing can be accurate and have been used effectively by practitioners who deliver hormone replacement therapy.

ANS: very unlikely and not easy to test. You cannot get saliva tests without a Dr in CA I don't think. So need more history and a careful exam. If you are taking hormones then can try stopping and see what happens.

Report to your MD: I do not believe there is immediate cause for worry, however, you should report this side effect to the physician who prescribed HGH therapy.  Like a canary in a coal mine, the mouth is an important indicator of changes in the rest of your body.  Best of Luck.

Anusol: I don't believe that an anusol  rectal suppository would affect assays of these hormones. You could check with the director of laboratory if you still have concerns.

NO: Kissing does not change your hormonal levels, and you cannot conceive from oral sex.  Sperm must enter the vagina for natural conception to occur

Xerostomia:  Yes, some women have less saliva when they are menstruating which can cause dry mouth. I don't know the percentage of women who expereince this.

i was rinsing my mouth with salt water and accidently swallowed it. my urine for the last few hours has been minimal and darker yellow. i read this is due to adh hormone release making me retain water. is that true? how long will that last? thanks?

: Most people are not that sensitive with that small amount of salt water and they do not note of significant change in urine volume or color. If you are that sensitive, you should feel thirsty too which makes you drink more water for negating the effect of high sodium intake, almost the same after eating Chinese foods. Your urine should be normalized within 6 hours &amp; drink water if you are thirsty.
