hi, 
i suffer from believed hormonal acne. when i do weight training or am sexually active, i break out. is there anyway you can help me? prescriptions?

Acne is most often: Due to male hormones. Inhibiting those hormones has unacceptable side effects; so treatment involves gently washing face to remove excess oils, using acne meds like benzoyl peroxide, retin-a, topical antibiotics, oral antibiotics. Severe cases (cystic acne) may require potent Accutane treatment. Daily skin care helps. See doc if rx antibiotics needed.

No: Sexual activity should not affect your menstrual pattern.  It is not normal if you experience any bleeding with sex either.

Accepted Answer

Nothing specific: As you age and you hormone levels change, there will be noticeable changes in your body - unless you conceive.  Teh sexual activity itself will not induce any specific changes in your body beyond what one might expect from the actual sexual activity (some tearing of the hymen can occur, you risk for urinary bladder infections can increase, and of course the risk for std's is present).

i moved from ca to ga but started my pills in ca. i took my pill 12pm ca time & continued to take it at 12 but ga time. i became sexually active march 30. i got here march 1st. am i ok? do i need to change the time i take it? im scared

Usually ok: Women taking BC pills properly, every day, don't seem to get pregnant merely due to traveling. Otherwise, doctors would hear lots of women saying, "It's weird, but I get pregnant every time I travel to..." For combination BC pills, a 3-hour time zone change can be ignored. For bigger time zone changes, a woman may feel safer transitioning into her "new pill-taking time" over a few days.

Discuss with doctor: Symptoms and concerns like these mandate a thorough evaluation by your doctor.  Only after such an evaluation, which may include labs and radiographic examinations, can he/she let you know what's going on and how best to help you.

Teach Partner: Yes, it is normal. I suggest you teach your partner how to do what you do to pleasure yourself. It takes nerve for both of you, their ego & your embarrassment, but it will please your partner more than you know to be able to make you feel that good. Use lubricant to make it easier.

Not unexpected: If you were age 16, I would think this may be marginally abnormal .But at age 37, my congratulations. 2 potential causes pop up (a) Your penis is less stimulated from frequent intercourse (b) You are firing far more bullets than you can manufacture. Give yourself a rest in-between and see how it will work for you.

why was there a small pink clump almost like a piece of body tissue in my urine, im a young female ive been on my pill for ages so its not due to a pill change, i am not sexually active aswell so that is out of the picture?

: Contamination with vaginal material could be an explanation. It is not feasible to provide a more meaningful opinion without additional history and results of urine examination. It does not seem to be an urgent matter and you may discuss it with your doctor at the next visit. If the event recurs, it would be prudent to see your doctor sooner.

: Irregular periods are very common with a variety of causes. If you are seeking better  cycle control consider scheduling a non urgent, routine visit with an Obgyn to discuss options for cycle control
