Soaks for a start...: An infection in the area can be treated locally by soaks - i like dilute vinegar soaks beacuse they provide an acid environment which is not conducive to most opportunistic bacteria (the ones that take advantage of an opportunity to get in). Also use a topical antibiotic cream. If the redness doesn't go away soon, you may need an oral antibiotic.

Corns and callouses: Can't be "ingorwn." they may feel painful and deep, but they don't grow "in." they are usually a symptom of a structural problem of the bones which cause rubbing on the floor or a shoe. The skin thickens as a protective response to the pressure. Do dad a favor and bring his feet to a podiatrist.  You'll both feel much better afterwards!

Callus: Callus can be a sign of an area on the foot that have excessive pressure; as a result of this, callus forms to protect the foot. You can bathe the feet in warm water and use a sugar exfoliant with a loofah to remove the excess skin. Do not use a blade at home to remove the callus. Use only a loofah with sugar exfoliant and warm water.
