is it ok to pay a home daycare service under the table?

No: Not totally sure what you mean by "under the table". They have to declare taxes based on monies they take in, so it is illegal for them to just accept payment and not report it. There are forms you need to fill out that are filed with social services for a registered daycare. Now if you're just hiring grandma next door to watch junior for a few hours, fine. Anything more, make it "above board".

Training: You should look for a provider that has infant and child CPR training as well as training in first aid.  The provider should also have a license to operate a home day care and have good communication skills with children.

Is he safe now?: I'm sorry to hear of what happened to your son.  I'm hoping he's safe now, no longer exposed to the treatment you describe?  If he's safe, loved, and also in treatment, he has every chance of healing and growing.  Depending on how severe the trauma was, he could have triggers with stressful events.  Is he socializing normally?  Playing?  Learning in school?  Important to review these things.

Home Daycare: You can contact your state licensing agency or your local better business bureau, provided your center is licensed. They can tell you if there are any complaints against the daycare.
Also, talk to parents who have children in the daycare to see if they have any concerns.

Abruptly hoarse: There are several causes of hoarseness in infants, but abrupt development of this is usually caused by viral infections, coughing/vomiting or prolonged periods of crying.

Identify and treat: Scabies is caused by a parasite (mite) that easily spreads from person to person as well as from garments, clothes, towels, etc to persons. Treatment with prescription medicated cream generally solves the problem, along with thorough washing and cleaning of garments, towels, carpets, bedding, etc. With hot water.  You may need to temporarily shut down while doing this until everything is cleaned.

i offer a variety of foods to my daughter but she's so picky and refuses to eat much at home. at daycare eats well. multivitamin?

Multivitamin ok: Kids often eat one good meal a day and are picky at other meals; however, she may be eating well at daycare if they are catering to child favorites and offering limited veggies, fruits and lean meats.  Review menus at daycare, and if that is the case, then continue to offer a varied diet at home, limit sweets, and eventually she will come around. Give vits with iron as iron deficiency more likely.

my infant son was sent home from daycare due to them thinking he has ringworm on his face. he has eczema and has been using a pacifier that has been rubbing the spot where the ringworm is. it did get slightly better with eczema cream. is it ringworm?
