: Over time testing becomes more efficient. And all lab tests should be interpreted by your physician in light of the reason that he/she felt the test was necessary.

: Delay of positive testing for HIV if PEP doesn't work isn't precisely known. Probably your negative results 6 weeks after completing PEP is accurate and it is unlikely you have HIV. However, some experts would recommend another antibody test, or an antigen-antibody (4th generation) blood test 3 months after completing PEP.

Not due to a hand: The hand should fear the penis, and not the penis fear the hand. It is hard for the penis to catch an STD from the hand. That's because hands don't tend to have STD's, and masseuses wash their hands often, sometimes use hand sanitizer between clients, and usually have their hands coated with massage oil... all making the hands pretty safe. Penises, on the other hand, are a natural source of STD's.

: No. A negative result at 40 days is about 99% accurate. Nose bleeds are not uncommon in otherwise healthy people.

: You could get tested anytime. From what you described you are not at risk for HIV, however, getting will not do any harm.
