: "YAZ and Nexplanon " concurrently provide high 90's percent contraception protection.  Low dose oral contraceptives like YAZ need to be taken punctually to prevent breakthrough bleeding, and Nexplanon implants may create non-ovulatory cycles with prolonged intervals between menstrual events.  Pregnancy risks for either are roughly equivalent, and minimal.

when taking yaz, (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) can it reduce the chance of getting pregnant when you stop it?and the rate of birth problems is high?

Missed Birth Control: Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) or any birth control pills works to stop your ovary from functioning to make you ovulate.  Therefore, stopping the pills and having your cycles return to normal will help you to get pregnant if you have unprotected intercourse.  If your cycles aren't regular, then you may need help to get pregnant.

You took it: Vomitting two hours after taking it is not going to affect the dose.

Hormonal symptoms: Better get a pregnancy test and a checkup. It would be unusual to suddenly get such drastic hormonal symptoms after 2 years on the yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol).

i have high cholesterol and am on a treatment using statins. i take 20 mg of atorvastatin and ecotrin blood thinner. which is the best birth control pill or option? i have started taking yaz.yaz does not work with cholesterol meds . what can i take?

Internist or GP: I wasn't aware of a contraindication between statins and oral contraceptives. There are other options to use for hyperlipidemia depending upon how severe and significant the problem is in each case. I doubt your gynecologist would be experienced in the use of these other agents so you would have to consult your GP or a specialist like an internist or cardiologist to prescribe and follow up.

i have been on yaz (oral contraceptive) for a year. i have dark skin pigmentation on my face and experienced weight gain after a year. the cramps etc are the same. i have high blood pressure. any other oral contraceptives i can safely use?

Talk to your GYN MD: Your presently prescribing GYN MD can discuss options for alternative contraception with you in detail. He/she will know your hypertension  history and what will work best

good morning, i just need to know. im currently been put on yaz i have been on it now for 4 months and my spotting is just getting worse? i am 26 and im not sure if im to old for yaz but its not suiting me at all.

"Spotting": bcp use: "Yaz" is a low dose oral bcp, and if not taken within the hour of the previous day's active pill, some "withdrawal bleeding" or "spotting" will occur.  If one is careful to take the active pills "on time", this may not occur.  To restart,  stop where you are, wait five days and start with a new pack, taking them in the evening at about the same time, as above.

i took yaz for premenopause i gained weight. what else can i take?

Weight gain on bcp's: On "Yaz", and other low dose oral contraceptives, weight gain is not generally a consequence.  After age 40, one's metabolism is markedly reduced, so calorie intake should be reduced as well, especially for carbohydrates ( bread, sweets, etc.).  If weight gain continues, see your healthcare provider for testing.

i'm taking pill yaz am is safe on the 1st 2months? from pregnancy?

: If "YAZ" was started during a regular menstrual cycle, it is almost 95 % protective against pregnancy, since taking it will stop ovarian function and ovulation.

i stopped yaz two weeks ago. how long i have to wait to try for pregnancy?

Accepted Answer

A month but: I suggest waiting at least a month to let the hormone get out of your system. However, understand that it may take several months for your cycles to regulate after stopping the pill. You will be able to get pregnant as soon as you are having regular periods off the pill.
