Hormones: The most important thing is to makes sure your TSH is normal and closet to about 0.5. You can't specifically do anything about the antibodies. There is a higher chance of miscarriage but usually that happens very early one.

It can: It certainly can.  You need to have other values such as tsh, t4, free T3 (liothyronine) and thyroid binding globulin to fully assess.  Also, if you're symptomatic in some way, this factors in as well.  Please discuss fully with the physician who ordered the test!  good luck.

You may have disease: Thyroid antibodies come in a variety of "flavors." they are not always associated with clinical disease and can create hyper or hypothyroidism.  They are rarely measured without a prior understanding of thyroid function.  I suspect you have had a TSH measured at some point and that we are missing the key to the puzzle.

By definition : By definition someone who has anti-thyroid antibodies carries a diagnosis of hashimoto's thyroiditis. That doesn't mean that thyroid function is always affected. However, in patients with high anti-thyroid antibodies we monitor thyroid function with blood work as the risk for developing thyroid dysfunction is higher.

If the antibodies stimulate the TSH receptor, this would lead to grave's disease, which implies a hyper functioning gland. If you have not had complete thyroid function testing (not just TSH but also T3, T4, REVERSE T3) in addition to repeat anti- thyroid antibodies you should forcefully request that these be done.  You should also measure your axillary temperature before arising every day for one week and keep a record of it to show your doc.  See your Mom's endo if GP resis
