No problem: Hi. That 25-hydroxyvitamin D level is no problem. If you're taking vitamin D supplements, you could cut the dose back, because I doesn't help more to have it that high, but it will do no harm. Vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium in the intestines, but it does not take the place of calcium. Reasonable total daily calcium intake (diet + any supplements) should be in the neighborhood of 1,500 mg

Often,  though if there is adequate dietary calcium intake and even occasional vitamin d intake through diet or production through sun exposure, circulating calcium levels can be normal (although other lab values such as parathyroid hormone (PTH) or alkaline phosphatase will be high and serum phosphate low).

Interesting question: To my awareness there is no specific thalassemia diet.  Regarding weight gain and vitamin d and calcium, i recommend a well rounded diet of meats, fruits, vegetables and grains, and dairy products.  Most physicians are checking vitamin d levels and prescribing
vitamin d and calcium according to test results.
Check with your doctor.

No evidence for this: In nephrocalcinosis, measures may be taken to reduce urinary concentration and increase the solubility of the substances (calcium, phosphate, or oxalate) contributing to the disease. However, restricting dietary calcium intake is not recommended unless it is excessive (>2000 mg/day). More important is liberal fluid intake, modest restriction of animal protein, and restriction of dietary sodium.

Hyperphosphatemia.: Calcium binds with dietary phosphate causing it to be excreted in the stool. This prevents hyperphosphatemia which is an important concern in advanced renal failure.

Calcium: supplements  should always be taken with a glass of water and some food.  The reason being Calcium may cause mild irritation id taken alone.

Its variable: It can happen as early as couple of days, its variable really.

Probably safe: Calcium taken alone without vitamin d may increase the risk of heart problems or stroke because you can not put the calcium in your bones without vitamin d so it will go into the soft tissues including the arteries. Be sure that the calcium citrate has been tested for lead because lead can be found in many calcium supplements. Only a few manufacturers test the raw ingredients for heavy metals.
