Thrombocytosis: Increased platelet count is common whenever there is inflammation or trauma (reactive thrombocytosis). If no such condition is known to exist, then the bone marrow may be hyperactive (essential thrombocytosis), or possibly there is a subclinical inflammatory condition present like inflammatory bowel disease.

Probably not: The two results that you are referring to are in the upper range of normal.  If all other results are within range, they should probably be considered normal as well.  If, however, these results are part of other abnormal tests, you should discuss with your physician in order to look at the entire picture.

what is considered mild thrombocytosis (high platelet)? mine was 420k . the labs said normal goes up to 400k but heard normal can go up to 450k on some lab results. all other labs are normal?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your mildly elevated result may be due to iron deficiency,  taking oral iron and multivitamins may help and it will not do any harm.  Wish you good health!

Depends: Very low platelets can increase risk of bleeding - obviously could be dangerous. Very high platelets (usually above a million) could increase risk of clots (strokes etc) & even bleeding in certain high risk pts with "myeloproliferative" disorder. The most important question is what is the cause &  how high or how low. Sometimes platelets could increase because of iron deficiency or inflammation.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Hepatitis: Yes. Of course. A viral illness can infect you regardless of your platelet count.
