Low estrogen levels: When chronically low estrogen levels lead to no periods the condition is called amenorrhea. The most common causes of estrogen suppression (via suppression of pituitary hormones) is chronic mental (severe depression, grief, axniety) stress or physical stress (marathon runners, athletes, etc.) hormonal treastment can restore your periods, if you want them. Treatment to prevent osteoporosis is rec.

after taking estrogen and provera (medroxyprogesterone) & no period yet , what's wrong?

Amenorrhea: If you were being treated for amenorrhea ( no periods) a common therapy is to give Provera (medroxyprogesterone) for 5 days and wait for your period in 1 or 2 weeks after last dose. If that does not work, estrogen can be given for 21 days followed by Provera (medroxyprogesterone) and again wait for your period. If that doest work your physician must rule out other medical conditions that cause amenorrhea.

May be: Why use vivelle (estradiol) for pmdd? You can use a very low dose 10 micrgram birth control pills and had an added benefit of preventing pregnancy since your period is still regular and still needs protection. The other possibility is, of course menopause. Check your fsh after several days off the patch.

EVAl: I am glad your MRI did not show significant pathology with your pituitary. You symptoms could be related to multiple issues: hormonal, neurological indectious. This would need more extensive evaluation.

With increased level: Of estrogen the periods are genarally either heavier or longer but generally not lighter and longer.  That may be just a variation or you may have a small uterine fibroid that may be revealing itself in this way.  It can be difficult to explain why one is having changes in duration of menses but see your doc if concerned.  Good luck.

Estrogen: Spotting can be caused by high estrogen levels. Do you have other symptoms like bloating or breast tenderness? Be careful about taking supplements as certain ones can elevate estrogen levels which can cause harmful effects like tendency to blood clots and cardiovascular disorders. Your gynecologist can evaluate and advise you best.

Stress and menses.: High levels of chronic stress can disrupt the normal menstrual cycle and influence hormone levels, yes.
