Office follow up: Unless he has symptoms, such as chest pain or blurred vision for example, would suggest keeping a log of his blood pressures rather than running to ER. Once there is a clear trend towards high blood pressures a follow up visit with his PCP would be appropriate.

NO: You are fine. Relax. This is normal BP and Pulse. There is normal range of BP from 90/60 to 140/85. and Pulse varies from 60 to 100.

: Xanax is contraindicated in patients who have acute narrow angle glaucoma (this is usually an emergency condition of the eye). Xanax does not have a mechanism to cause an increase in eye pressure.

: Both severe tachycardia, up to 180 and SVT can be triggered by an anxiety attack but SVT may have symptoms resembling an anxiety attack though. With just monitor tracing severe tachycardia can be mistaken as SVT but a 12 lead EKG should help.

Depends: What med(s) are you on? Are you at maximum dose of each? How high is the blood pressure? Are you overweight? Are you diabetic? Docs have a number of different BP meds that work by different mechanisms; so they can change meds, increase doses, add another med. Exercise & eat healthful meals to attain proper weight & relieve stress.

Very few symptoms: Until it is too late! the BP must be measured to be assessed. The risks of untreated hbp: heart attack, stroke, impotence, etc. Emergency care should  be initiated if sys &gt;185m, or heart attack, stroke. Rec: lose weight, exercise, lower salt intake, see doc for meds if needed.

Diuretic: A diuretic will lower your blood pressure and help you excrete excess salt. You could also try a salt substitute. Always taste your food before you salt it, and then use the smallest amount you find satisfying.
