went to er last night with high blood pressure, leg weakness and light headed. dismissed as hbp + anxiety. ekg and blood work normal. could 2g azythromicin 10 days before (still present in body) be related? referenced this but was told not relevant?

: Any incresed blood pressure, especially at age "46" should be evaluated by your physician, and treated appropriately if sustained over time.  Azithromycin is not likely to have influenced the increase in blood pressure.

How high: Hard to say. How high is the bp?  When did you start labetalol? Maybe the BP came down too fast already? Did you get dehydrated in the heat?

Possibly: Congratulations on the loss of weight.  Excess weight is a contributor to elevated blood pressure.  If you have lost this much, you might indeed be overmedicated.  Hopefully you are being followed closely with your family doctor during this interval - and also have an exercise program going on.

Drink Water!: You may be experiencing dehydration.  This can be made worse when on BP meds.  Also, if this is a new dose change, you may require a medication adjustment.  You should talk about this with your doctor.  Best of luck!

Low BP: I think you are light headed from a low blood pressure. Check with your provider in regards of your asthma medications and effect on the BP. Your family history of  hypertension is a risk, but not necessary you will have it.

May be BP problem: You have symptoms that suggest a problem called autonomic insufficiency (dizzy spells, passing out, headaches). This is common in young women. Essentially the brain can misread the signals being sent by the heart and blood vessels and cause the pulse to go fast (or slow) and the blood pressure to fall making you lightheaded. A tilt table test can diagnose this problem. Talk to your md.

Vapors: Many possibilities: diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus, hemorrhage from any cause (eg from heavy menses), addison's disease, interstitial nephritis, ingestion of various medicines or drugs, cardiac arrhythmia, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, pulmonary embolism, cardiac tamponade, infection from any cause with fever, and on and on. You need an internal medicine evaluation.
