i'm a 43 year old man who suffers from high blood pressure. this evening i felt very nauseas and woozy. after a bit of rest, i woke up feeling the same. should i be concerned? i'm also feeling flashes of cold and warmth. please help if you can.

Woozy, nausea: I assume you checked your bp and it was in good control. Vertigo and nausea, especially if it's provoked or worsened by head motions is generally an inner ear disorder. These symptoms can also occur from blockages in arteries supplying the back of the brain or the cerebellum. If you can't pinpoint the symptoms to an inner ear cause, I recommend proceeding to the hospital emergency room for evaluat

See qualified MD: You need to see a qualified md right away - preferably western trained or at a western hospital in india. Your blood pressure is high for two reasons - the number itself but also you are having symptoms of light-headedness. This can be dangerous. For your part, exercise daily (does not have to be vigorous), lose weight if overweight, stop smoking, reduce fat/meat/dairy intake, ; reduce salt use.

It depends : If the blood pressure suddenly drop more than 20 mmhg, patient can feel dizzy or pass out. Like orthostatic hypotension, that means if you change position from lying down to standing up, you feel dizzy.

Concerning: Without knowing how far along you are in your pregnancy, this is harder to answer. I am, however, concerned that your hypertension may be associated with a pregnancy related condition called pre-eclampsia. I would speak to your obstetrician or midwife soon (like today).

Circadian rhythm: Is the normal (about 24 hours) rhythm  of the brain that is controlled by the night/day cycle. During part of each 90 minute sleep cycle we have about 10 minutes of rem or active sleep when the autonomic nervous system (ans)(automatic) becomes active. Your ANS activity is exaggerated and unbalanced and the commonest cause is poor diet, especially all that sugar and sweeteners if it applies to you.

Possibly: Congratulations on the loss of weight.  Excess weight is a contributor to elevated blood pressure.  If you have lost this much, you might indeed be overmedicated.  Hopefully you are being followed closely with your family doctor during this interval - and also have an exercise program going on.

If : If you feel fatigue, which is what i assume you meant by your statement, then this calls for investigation. Your blood pressure may actually be too low. Do you have a blood pressure monitor? I would start there. If you don't you should follow up with your doctor to investigate why you are feeling this way.
