: You have very mild non progressing albuminuria &amp; proteinuria with otherwise normal kidney function, but you don't mention whether a microscopic examination of your urine sediment shows microhematuria which could be due to a mild degree of chronic glomerulonephritis or other  glomerular pathology which could explain the proteinuria.  A nephrologist can advise you best.

Although it is rare at your age but it is possible because you have had mild albuminuria for years but it does not progress and kidney fx remains normal. Your doctor can measure urine albumin during sleep and active states to make the diagnosis.
