GYN: Any unexplained heavy vaginal bleeding should be evaluated by your GYN. This may just be a change in your cycle; however, I recommend a pelvic exam and testiing.

ttc but im confused had mirena out sept 27 bleed few days then oct had mild spotting few days then week later heavy period for 7 days nov  stopped period the 3rd back on nov 19th til 24th then 12/13 to 16th and now spotting today worried cant prego?

Fertility ?'s: At 41, pregnancy is more difficult to achieve. To provide the best chance, ask your OB physician about a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) which can ensure your tubes are open.  Also you may need a consult from a fertility specialist if the HSG is normal.

Your bleeding: You said you did not get your period but also that you are bleeding. It seems like you are having your period now unless I am misunderstanding your question. If you want to regulate your cycles and if you do not want to get pregnant then see a doctor for birth control.

Breakthrough: More likely breakthrough bleeding. In my clinical experience implantation bleeding is inconsistent, unpredictable, and mostly doesn't happen at all - even though it's all the rage on the blogs.

malpositioned mirena removed 2 wks ago (had for 1wk) + started norqd. bled heavy 4 several days, had light bleeding+ cramps since, but now bleeding very heavy again. lmp 8/11. is this my period, or what? confused. when will this end? normal??

Abnormal bleeding: This heavy and irregular bleeding is not normal. While your periods may straighten out, I suggest you go back to the doctor. A follow up exam and some hormones may be needed.

ive bleeding lightly with pink and brown coloured blood since yesterday. now im confused as i have tiny little dark red blood clots that surely cant be my period as its not due for another 8 days and the blood is watery. can this mean im pregnant?

: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

is withdrawal bleeding from bc a real period? i bled for 1 day (feb 1st) from not taking 2 pills. last period before that star jan 20th. confused?

Birth control: Last seven days of your pills you should have your period. Usually your cycle starts at the second or third pill of your last 7 days of the package. If you miss pills in between you are going to have breakthrough bleeding and that is not your period.

Irregular bleeding: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

That is confusing!: If you are having heavy bleeding with positive pregnancy test at home then I would go back to the OB/GYN for a recheck.  They may want to check your blood hormone levels several days in a row to determine the actual level of hormones and whether they are going up or down.  An ultrasound may also be necessary to see what is happening inside the uterus (pregnancy, fibroid, abnormal growth)
